Publication Ethics
ILN Journal: Indian Literary Narratives is dedicated to uphold ethical standards in publishing and maintaining the quality of its articles. All personals engaged are expected to adhere to the standards of ethical behavior as outlined in COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Core Practices. The responsibilities and anticipated conduct of authors, editors, and reviewers, involved in the proceedings are outlined as follows:
Duties of the Authors
Authors who are presenting the findings of their own research are expected to provide an impartial analysis on the importance of their work. It is imperative that the underlying data is appropriately reflected in the manuscript. Engaging in fraudulent or willfully incorrect remarks is considered unethical and falls outside the bounds of acceptable behavior.
Review articles should possess the qualities of objectivity, comprehensiveness, and accuracy in order to provide an authoritative and up-to-date representation of the current level of knowledge in a certain field.
The authors should take necessary measures to guarantee that their work is totally composed of original content. In the event that the work or words of others have been incorporated, it is imperative that proper acknowledgment is given. Plagiarism, in its various manifestations, represents a sort of unethical conduct in the realm of publication and is deemed as unacceptable. Read Plagiarism Policy
Engaging in the simultaneous submission of a manuscript to multiple journals is considered to be an unethical practice within the realm of academic publishing and is deemed as inappropriate.
Duties of the Editors
Editors are in charge of selecting which of the articles that are submitted for publication. The editors are guided by the policies established by the Journal's Editorial Board.
Editors should assess articles only based on their intellectual content and academic value, without taking into consideration the authors' color, gender, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
Editors are required to maintain strict confidentiality regarding any material pertaining to a submitted manuscript, limiting its disclosure solely to the related author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as deemed appropriate. It is imperative for editors to refrain from incorporating unpublished information into their own study without obtaining explicit written approval from the author.
Editors are advised to adopt appropriate and timely actions in response to ethical grievances that have been raised regarding a manuscript that has been submitted for publication or a paper that has already been published.
Duties of the Reviewers
The utilization of anonymous peer review aids the editors in their process of making informed editing decisions. All manuscripts that are submitted for evaluation must be regarded as confidential materials. It is imperative to maintain the confidentiality of privileged information or ideas acquired through the process of peer review, refraining from utilizing them for personal gain.
Reviews should be handled in an objective manner, and it is not allowed to engage in personal criticism of the author. It is imperative for reviewers to articulate their findings in a clear and concise manner, accompanied by well-founded arguments. This will enable writers to effectively utilize the feedback provided in order to enhance the quality of their paper.
Any reviewer who has been chosen and believes they lack the necessary qualifications to evaluate the research presented in a submission, or is aware that they will be unable to conduct a timely assessment, should inform the editor and withdraw from the review process. It is imperative for reviewers to abstain from evaluating articles in which they own conflicts of interest arising from competing, collaborative, or any other relationships or affiliations with the authors, companies, or institutions associated with the respective publications.
In instances where there are allegations or substantiated instances of scientific misconduct, fraudulent publication, or plagiarism, the publisher, in close coordination with the Editors-in-Chief, will undertake necessary actions to investigate and rectify the problem pertaining to the specific article. This encompasses the timely issuance of an erratum or, in instances of utmost severity, the comprehensive withdrawal of the implicated scholarly output. The publisher and the journal adhere to a policy of non-discrimination, refraining from making distinctions based on age, race, or ethnicity, religion, creed, disability, marital status, veteran status, national origin, race, gender, in all aspects of their publishing programs, services, and activities.
